In the beginning….

I got introduced to Charlie Rock in Pensacola fl back in ’88 by mutual friends and through hanging out at audio advice.  Charlie rock and I became good friends and he introduced me to the world of DJing.  something i was always interested in, amazed with, but never experienced.  I immediately fell in love with the art , music, and culture and that is what i wanted to be.

 So, we would be hanging out at the club where Carlie Rock DJ’d – club 2001.  I got to know DJ D-Dwayne and Ray Ray (rip) from wblx from over in mobile.  they would come over and Dj at the club as well as we would hang with them over in mobile and the area (wild night at the monroeville youth center)  man, we had some good times.  

In fact, D-Dwayne lent me his 1200’s for a bit so I could practice at home.  I remember mixing Waterfalls into Dear Mama to this day 🙂

cleaning out my garage and ran across a tape that had ‘doughboy’ (my original dj tag) FADED OUT written  in an old marker.  Popped it in and it was one of the recordings from around 1989/90 all vinyl cuz controllers and serato were years from being invented.  I digitized it and have it in 2 parts below.

How the paths of our lives are changed.  Many thanks to charlie rock for introducing me to this world, d-dwayne and Ray ray for letting me hang and experience this world, and Dj rich salazar and Dj Agnes for getting me back to this world in my 50’s.
